Meal Allergen Analyzer
I created an app with a scanner packaging component to ease the worry of allergic reactions while dining out. Using Figma & Adobe Illustrator, shown below is the app screens, packaging scanner & pamphlet, app sitemap, website presence and app store mockup.
The Concept
Carefull’s brand identity surrounds the idea of being Social & Safe, having a fulfilling social life while still prioritizing health and safety. Enjoying new social experiences of dining out, without worrying about what is being consumed. Have fun, but be careful.
The Rebrand
A Meal Allergen App, in two opposite voices.
I wanted to share the drastic transformation that my app publication went through. In the beginning of the project, this app had a completely different design voice that read “energetic, informative, proactive”. After a semester of critiques and advice from several different perspectives, I had to make the decision to start from scratch on the design, in order for the outcome to be the most successful. Now, the final design voice of this app says “classy, modern, easing”. I made this design transition in due to a change of my audience- going from a broad audience of “people with allergies” to a more specific “young adults with social lives who want to be safe from allergic reactions”. This specification of my audience completely changed the direction I took in terms of design. Although this was one of the hardest things i’ve pulled off in cmd, i gained so much from this experience, learning how to accept starting over to benefit my client’s outcome.
